One of the hidden gems I’ve discovered in NYC is s’mac, thanks to a recommendation from a friend of a friend. The location I first went to was in First Park, on 1st street and 2nd avenue. It was a cute little kiosk in the park, the perfect spot to try any of the 10+ flavors of mac&cheese. They are all absolutely delicious, made to order, and served in a cute cast iron skillet–even better, they have gluten free and multigrain pasta so you can feel less guilty about indulging.
S’mac is also a reasonably priced lunch option for Manhattan, since getting a filling meal and a drink for under $10 is a rarity. Macaroni and cheese is a staple comfort food, and when living in such a big and sometimes unfriendly city, it’s nice to have a familiar meal.
Find s’mac in Murray Hill, which has happy hour every Sunday-Thursday, and in the East Village
