how to celebrate v-day when you’re low key happy to be single

Here we are. February 14. Valentine’s Day. A day that brings me many mixed feelings. I enjoy the idea of this holiday. That once a year, you make an extra effort to show your significant other just how much you love them. Remember in elementary school, when you got to pick out themed Valentines at CVS and give one to each of your classmates? And those SweetHearts candies you could bashfully slip to your crush? I wish Valentine’s Day was still like that. Anyway, I’m single, and these are some of the things I will be doing tomorrow.

1. Kick things off today with a Gal-entine’s Day celebration with your gal pals. Play my favorite Parks & Rec drinking game: take a shot whenever someone makes fun of Jerry/Gary/Larry.

2. Valentine’s Day is on a Sunday this year? Perfect, let’s do brunch. And Monday is a holiday? Bottomless mimosas, please.

3. I’ve never been one for “eating my feelings,” but if you’re gonna eat pizza this weekend, it might as well be a heart-shaped one. And you might as well make a crazy dessert to go with it…

4. While you’re eating, watch Love Actually. Because…you should take any opportunity to watch the ultimate rom-com.

P.S. If you’re single, tell me how YOU celebrate V-Day!

P.P.S. Also, any updates on buying flowers for yourself? Has it gotten less sad?? Asking for a friend.
