2019 has been a rollercoaster. Between unexpected (and unwanted) changes in my professional and personal lives, it’s been a challenging year. But there have still been a lot of joyful moments! I traveled a lot. I’m about to celebrate two years with my boyfriend. I got a new job (and a raise). I ate a lot of pizza. And I made a conscious effort to be grateful.
When life get particularly shitty, I think about all of the good things. I close my eyes and acknowledge how lucky I am. Sometimes I call my mom. Sometimes I call Tim. I remember that I’m loved. That I’m valued. That I’m healthy. That nothing is permanent.
So this Thanksgiving, like every other Thanksgiving, I’m taking an extra-long moment to be grateful. For…
a passport that lets me go anywhere in the world
my endlessly supportive parents
being an older sister
the candle aisle at Home Goods
Jeopardy! and Alex Trebek
