spring style shopping list

This (actually chic) floral dress.

I’m pretty picky about florals, but this one really does it for me. I love the bow in the back and the metallic details – it’s perfect for warm weather, and will also look great with tights and boots.

This fun t-shirt.

There’s so much “yay!” about this tee – elbow sleeves, a sweet little patch pocket, and the perfect price.

This buttery blouse.

When I break up my almost all-black wardrobe with color, I love to do it with a pop of mustardy yellow.

This perfect pink jacket.

I know, I know…this isn’t super “spring-y,” but I like to be prepared when it comes to New England weather. This little number will be perfect over my Easter dress, and I’m obsessed with the millennial pink-inspired hue.

These romantic earrings.

I’m not sure why, but I’m really into heart-shaped jewelry right now (I recently bought these Alison Lou studs). I love these simple gold ones from Madewell for a little everyday flair.

The ultimate wedding guest dress.

Really feeling pink this spring. I love this color-blocked design, and the chic style is great for every occasion from bridal showers to Easter brunch.

pin-spiration: SPRING

Spring has sprung! Well, kind of. And Happy Easter to everyone who’s participating! I’m so excited to celebrate the end of Lent by getting to eat ICE CREAM again. Since warmer weather is in the (hopefully) near future, I wanted to round up some colorful, spring-y images that are keeping my winter spirits up.

pin-spiration: plants

Nor’easters aside, spring is in the air!! Tulips and daffodils have appeared at the grocery store! March is an “official” spring month, right? I love plants all year round, but since my birthday bouquet has finally kicked the bucket, I’m getting ready to bring some new greenery into my life.

I’m a sucker for succulents (see what I did there), potted aloe, and any other leafy green things. What are your favorite plants?

pretty in pastel

featuring H&M
New York Fashion Week always takes over the city, and it was no different this past Spring. One of my favorite trends this was pastels, since they are easy to wear, and you can find pastel clothing from anywhere from the back of your closet to stores like H&M. Looks from designers Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, and Rebecca Taylor are shown above, and the items below are available at H&M, my favorite store for inexpensive, trendy clothing.
As someone who prefers  black and denim, I don’t wear a lot of color so I wanted to incorporate darker details into these pastel outfits. Pairing a light pink blazer with black trousers or dark make up can make the outfit more wearable and versatile from one season to the next. Additionally, focusing on color rather than  silhouette allows everyone to wear whichever style is most flattering while staying on trend.
P.S. Prabal Gurung also recently collaborated with Target on a colorful collection that is available in select stores, a great opportunity to snag designer pieces for a great deal (the shoes are my favorite!).
